Flavour Profile

This coffee delivers a lively yet beautifully balanced cup where natural sweetness meets vibrant fruit character.

  • ✔ Fruity aroma
  • ✔ Red berries
  • ✔ Chocolate
  • ✔ High natural sweetness
  • ✔ Long, elegant finish

The Natural processing method allows the coffee beans to absorb more of the fruit's natural sugars during drying, resulting in a sweeter, fuller-bodied and more complex cup.

Why is Natural processing so special?

Unlike Washed coffees, where the fruit is removed before drying, Natural coffees are dried with the whole coffee cherry intact. This traditional process enhances sweetness, body and fruit-forward flavours while creating a richer and more expressive cup.

It is one of the reasons why Natural African Specialty Coffees are highly appreciated by both espresso enthusiasts and filter coffee lovers.

Red Bourbon – one of the world's finest Arabica varieties

Red Bourbon is regarded as one of the most prestigious Arabica varieties thanks to its exceptional sweetness, elegant balance and complex flavour profile. Combined with Rwanda's terroir and Natural processing, it produces a coffee with remarkable clarity and depth.

Crafted for Light Espresso

BLACK SHEEP has chosen a Light Espresso Roast to preserve the coffee's vibrant fruit character while maintaining the balance and sweetness required for a modern espresso.

The result is a medium-bodied espresso with lively acidity, silky texture and a beautiful crema that also performs exceptionally well in milk-based drinks.
